The team at designwest were absolutely thrilled to work with the guys at the Síamsa Sráide Street & Arts Festival Committee this year for the creation of their website design for the mayo, Ireland based festival. The Festival which is celebrating its 35th year this year is one of the biggest in the west of Ireland and indeed possibly countrywide as it attracts huge crowds every year. The website design which was created on the WordPress platform is fully mobile friendly and one which the guys can easily update themselves. We have to say that working with Brendan and the team was one of the nicest experiences we have had in the last year and they were really happy with the results. So much so here is what they said. Designwest did a fantastic Job and the website is outstanding. The Best thing that ever happened to the Festival was Designwest. What a lovely compliment to receive.
Here is a brochure design we have just completed for the Civil Defence in Ireland. We at designwest were thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work with the team to create and design this high impact brochure design for the Ireland based agency. The brochure design demonstrates and illustrates just how crucial the Civil Defence mechanism is to our country and we are very lucky to have these people on hand if and when we need them. The brochure design itself uses very strong visual colours which have been taken from the logo of the Civil Defence. These combined with some smart typographic skills and quirky design all combine to what we hope is interesting but informative brochure design.
Every now and then we get asked to create a website design for something we just love the idea of – and this was certainly one of them. The Website design for this Galway, Inishbofin, Ireland based adventure race was certainly one that captured our heart from the start. The stunning landscape and beautiful features of Inishbofin make the most wonderful setting for an adventure race. The task for the designers at designwest was simple. Create a visually stunning – easy to navigate and captivating website design for this Galway based race. The graphic designers at designwest were also tasked with creating the logo/brand design for the adventure race. Check out the site.
The ‘Fainne Oir‘ website was developed to celebrate and promote new music and contemporary dance experience composed by Belcarra, Co Mayo based composer and conductor and choreographed by acclaimed ‘Riverdance’ and ‘Lord of the Dance’ lead dancer, Ciara Sexton. ‘Fainne Oir‘ will premiere in the Royal Theatre, Castlebar on September 20 before transferring to Symphony Space on Broadway for it’s US premiere!
‘Fáinne Oir’ is a beautiful Irish story which tells of an Irish family living in the small town of Glanagweeha in West Mayo during the Years of the Famine 1845-1848. Parents Sean and Maire O’Malley and their five daughters Saoirse, Maire, Aine, Nora and Brid, work in the community with their neighbours, surviving mainly off the life-giving potato crop. It is also the story of young love between Saoirse, the oldest daughter, and farmhand Diarmuid. The website design for the Mayo, Ireland based organisation was created and designed on the WordPress platform. This means that the client – once they get a quick training session – will easily be able to edit, update and add pages to the site.
The Design is a simple functional and clean design which also is designed to reflect the brand and essence of the story at hand. The end user can also buy tickets directly through the site using a simple e-commerce function. Overall we are sure that this website will suit the clients need perfectly and we hope it serves them well into the future in support of their fantastic production. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Mike Hannon on this project and we sincerely appreciate the opportunity to have been given the website design creative brief. Here is a school crest design that we have just created for Culmore National School based in the heart of Mayo, Ireland. The Crest as you can see uses Irish language. The updated crest design is based on the previous crest but we took some creative licence and updated the styling of the crest a little. There are a huge amount of schools around Ireland who are using outdated crests for which they have no high-resolution artwork for when required for printing of uniforms or promotional materials but that is certainly not the case for Culmore National School now that they have a shiny new Crest which the talented designers at Designwest have created and supplied in digital format such as vector, PDF, Hi-res Jpeg and a PNG so they are all set for the digital and promotional future of the school.
