Website Design and UX for AI Aviation Jobs: A Global Aviation Recruitment Platform Designed From Mayo and Dublin

Website design homepage for AI Aviation Jobs recruitment platform by Designwest Ireland

Project Overview

AI Aviation Jobs is the world’s first AI-powered jobs platform built exclusively for the aviation industry, connecting airlines, MROs and aviation recruiters with pilots, engineers and ground operations professionalsworldwide.Designwest was brought in to design the platform’s full website experience, working across candidate and employer journeys, AI-assisted matching visuals, verification workflows and a responsive interface built for desktop, tablet and mobile.

This was website design on an international scale. The client operates across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Americas, and the site needed to feel credible to airline HR managers and MRO operations leads from the first scroll.Designwest’s website design team, working from its Mayo and Dublin studios, delivered a platform that looks and functions like enterprise aviation software while remaining approachable for individual jobseekers.

The Client & Context

AI Aviation Jobs was founded by an aviation professional with direct experience as a Boeing 737 pilot, aviation recruiter, flight operations auditor and technical ground school instructor. That background shaped the brief from day one: this platform had to reflect deep aviation credibility, not a generic tech start-up look.

The audience is twofold. Employers include airlines, MROs (maintenance, repair and overhaul providers) and aviation staffing agencies who need to hire quickly without compromising on safety-critical compliance. Candidates range from commercial pilots to engineering finance managers, sourced from a global talent pool spanning aviation hubs from Colombo to Papua New Guinea.

The Brief

Designwest was asked to deliver a full website design for a two-sided marketplace platform, built around three core pillars: AI-powered candidate matching, human expert validation, and verified credential screening through the client’s partnership with Veremark, a global background screening provider.

The design needed to communicate three things clearly on every page. First, that the platform is built by aviation professionals, not generalist recruiters. Second, that AI does the heavy lifting but a human reviews every match. Third, that verified, trusted candidates are the platform’s core value, not just a nice-to-have feature.

The Challenge

Recruitment platforms are a crowded category, and aviation recruitment is even more demanding. Airline HR managers and MRO operations leads are used to dense, compliance-heavy paperwork and legacy job boards that feel dated and transactional.

The challenge for this website design project was building something that felt modern and AI-native without losing the trust signals that safety-critical hiring depends on. A slick, generic SaaS aesthetic would have undersold the platform’s aviation expertise. A dense, corporate compliance look would have undersold the AI technology. The website design had to sit precisely between the two.

There was also a technical challenge. The platform needed to present live job listings, candidate profiles, an AI chat assistant, verification badges and a multi-step onboarding flow, all within a single, coherent design system that reads clearly on a 27-inch desktop monitor and a mobile phone screen with equal confidence.

Our Design Approach

Designwest’s website design process began with understanding the platform’s information architecture: job search, employer dashboards, candidate profiles, pricing tiers and the AI matching engine all needed dedicated design attention. Rather than designing screens in isolation, the team mapped the full candidate and employer journeys first, then built the visual system to support both.

A deep purple and indigo base was chosen for the primary interface, giving the platform a night-sky, high-tech feel that echoes the aviation sector without resorting to literal cloud or runway clichés. Bright orange was layered in as the primary action colour, used consistently for sign-up buttons, job applications and account creation, giving every key conversion point strong visual weight against the darker backdrop.

The homepage hero section leads with a bold, confident headline, “Smarter Aviation Hiring, AIPowered,” supported by dual pathways for candidates and employers rather than forcing one audience down a single path. This dual-track structure runs throughout the site, in the built-for-everyone section, the pricing tiers and the footer navigation.

Design Rationale & Visual Decisions

Colour
The core palette runs from deep indigo through violet to a bright, saturated blue, layered with orange as the sole accent colour for calls to action. This is a deliberate departure from the pale blues and greys common across generic job board websites. The indigo-to-violet gradient reads as night sky and radar screen at once, giving the platform a technology-forward identity that still nods to aviation without leaning on stock aeroplane cliché.

Orange was chosen specifically for its contrast against the dark background and its associations with runway lighting and hazard visibility, both familiar visual cues within aviation itself. Every primary action across the site, from “Browse Jobs” to “Create Account,” uses this same orange, giving users a single, unmistakable colour to look for when they are ready to act.

White and pale grey panels are used for content cards sitting on top of the darker background, keeping data-dense sections such as featured jobs, pricing and verification badges highly legible. This contrast between dark brand backdrop and light content cards gives the whole website design a strong sense of depth and hierarchy.

Form & Structure
The interface relies heavily on card-based layout, with rounded corners on almost every panel, from job listings to the AI chat widget to the verification badge grid. This softens what could otherwise be a very data-heavy, compliance-driven interface and keeps the platform feeling approachable to individual jobseekers as well as enterprise HR teams.

Device mockups throughout the site show the platform running across desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile simultaneously, reinforcing that this is genuinely responsive website design rather than a desktop-first build with mobile as an afterthought. The candidate verification flow uses a simple horizontal progress bar, moving from profile upload through AI match to expert review, giving users a clear sense of where they stand in the process at any point.

Typography
Headlines are set in a bold, geometric sans serif that reads confidently at large sizes without tipping into the overly rounded, playful register common to consumer apps. Body copy uses a clean, highly legible sans serif designed to hold up at small sizes across dense sections such as the pricing table and verification checklist.

The AviationJobs logotype itself uses a two-tone treatment, with “Aviation” set in solid white and “Jobs” picked out in the brand’s signature blue-to-violet gradient. This small typographic decision does a lot of work, making the platform instantly recognisable in a favicon, a social share card or a printed pitch deck alike.

Symbolism & Content
Trust signals are built directly into the visual language rather than left to copy alone. Verification badges for identity check, employment history, reference check and airside check are each marked with a clear “VERIFIED” tag, visually reinforcing the platform’s partnership with Veremark before a user reads a single word of the supporting copy.

Statistics are treated as design elements in their own right, with 10K+ professionals, 500+ airlines and MROs, a 95 percent match success rate and 24/7 support presented as bold, oversized figures rather than buried in body text. An AI assistant character, Skye, is introduced through a friendly chat bubble interface, giving the platform’s AI technology a warm, approachable face rather than a faceless algorithm.

Practical Application
The website design needed to function as a genuine two-sided marketplace, with distinct sign-in flows, dashboards and calls to action for candidates and employers running in parallel throughout. Every core page, from the homepage to the pricing plans, was designed to work equally well whether the visitor arrives looking to hire or looking to be hired.

Responsive performance was a non-negotiable requirement given the platform’s international user base, many of whom access job listings and applications from mobile devices while travelling. The design system was tested and refined across desktop, tablet and mobile breakpoints to ensure job listings, application forms and the AI chat widget all remain fully usable at every screen size.

Final Outcome & Applications

The completed website design gives AI Aviation Jobs a platform that looks and feels like dedicated aviation infrastructure rather than a generic recruitment template. Employers browsing the “Trusted by Leading Aviation Employers” section see familiar airline and MRO logos alongside a clear, confident design system that signals credibility from the first visit.

Candidates encounter a straightforward, welcoming sign-up experience, supported by the Skye AI assistant for immediate help with jobs, pricing and account questions. The verification and screening sections, built around the Veremark partnership, give both sides of the marketplace visible proof that the platform takes safety-critical hiring seriously.

The responsive build means the same experience holds up whether an aviation professional is applying for a role from a laptop in an airport lounge or an HR manager is reviewing candidates from a tablet between meetings. This was website design built to scale with an international, always-on aviation workforce.

Why Choose Designwest for Website Design in Ireland

Designwest has been designing websites for Irish and international clients since relocating to Mayo from Dublin, building a reputation across website design that goes well beyond templates. The AI Aviation Jobs project reflects the kind of work Designwest takes on regularly: complex, data-rich platforms that need a design team capable of thinking in both visual and functional terms.

Working from studios in Mayo and Dublin, Designwest designs for clients across Ireland, the UK, the United States and further afield, bringing the same design discipline to an international SaaS platform as to a local community website.

For businesses building AI-powered products, technology platforms or two-sided marketplaces, Designwest’s website design experience translates directly into interfaces that build user trust from the first click. Declan Foley, Creative Director of Designwest, leads every website design project personally, ensuring that the visual system, user experience and brand voice stay consistent across every page and every device. That consistency is what separates a website that simply displays information from one that actively builds confidence in a platform, whether the audience sits in Dublin, Dubai or Denver.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Designwest do?
Designwest is a full service graphic design and website design agency based in Mayo and Dublin, Ireland, working across branding, print, digital and website design for clients across Ireland and internationally. The team combines design and development skills in house rather than outsourcing build work.

Does Designwest design websites for international clients?
Yes. Designwest regularly designs websites for clients outside Ireland, including technology platforms and SaaS businesses with a global user base, such as the AI Aviation Jobs recruitment platform. Location is never a barrier to working with the Designwest team.

How much does website design cost in Ireland?
Website design costs in Ireland vary depending on scope, from a small brochure site to a complex twosided marketplace platform. Designwest provides a tailored quote after understanding the project’s functionality, user journeys and design complexity, rather than working from a fixed template price.

How long does a website design project take?
Timelines depend on scale. A straightforward brochure website can take a few weeks, while a complex platform with multiple user types, dashboards and AI features, similar to the AI Aviation Jobs project, typically takes several months from initial design through to a fully responsive build.

What is included in a website design package from Designwest?
A typical package includes information architecture planning, wireframing, visual design across all key pages, a responsive design system for desktop, tablet and mobile, and close collaboration with development to ensure the final build matches the design intent exactly.

Does Designwest design for SaaS and technology platforms?
Yes. The AI Aviation Jobs project is a strong example of Designwest’s work in the SaaS and technology space, involving dashboards, AI-driven features, verification workflows and dual user journeys for candidates and employers.

What is the difference between website design and web development?
Website design covers the visual system, layout, typography, colour and user experience decisions. Web development covers the technical build that brings that design to life. Designwest works across both, with an in house team of designers and developers working together rather than handing design over to a separate build agency.

Can Designwest design a two-sided marketplace platform?
Yes. The AI Aviation Jobs platform is a two-sided marketplace connecting aviation employers and candidates, and Designwest designed distinct, parallel journeys for both audiences within a single coherent visual system.

Does Designwest work with aviation or recruitment technology companies?
Yes. The AI Aviation Jobs project involved designing for an aviation recruitment technology platform, requiring a visual language that balanced technical credibility with approachability for individual jobseekers.

Is responsive design included in every Designwest website project?

Does Designwest design candidate and employer dashboards?
Yes. The AI Aviation Jobs project included dashboard design for both candidates tracking applications and employers managing job posts, candidate matches and analytics, all within the same overall design system.

What makes aviation recruitment website design different from a generic job board?
Aviation recruitment involves safety-critical compliance, credential verification and highly specific role requirements. The website design for AI Aviation Jobs reflects this by foregrounding verification badges, expert review steps and clear trust signals rather than treating the platform as a generic listings site.

Can Designwest integrate verification or trust badges into a website design?
Yes. For AI Aviation Jobs, Designwest designed a clear verification badge system covering identity check, employment history, reference check and airside check, giving both employers and candidates visible proof of the platform’s screening partnership.

Yes. Designwest has experience delivering bilingual Irish and English website and publication design for public sector and government clients, and can apply the same approach to bilingual website projects where required.

What industries has Designwest designed websites for?
Designwest has designed websites across education, hospitality, community organisations, government departments, arts organisations and technology platforms, including the aviation recruitment sector through the AI Aviation Jobs project.

Can I design my own website using an online template instead of hiring a designer?
Template builders can work for very simple sites, but complex platforms with multiple user journeys, dashboards and custom features, like AI Aviation Jobs, generally need dedicated design and development expertise to look credible and function reliably at scale.

Does Designwest offer UX design as part of website design projects?
Yes. User experience design is built into every Designwest website project, mapping user journeys before visual design begins, as was the case with the candidate and employer flows designed for AI Aviation Jobs.

How does Designwest ensure a website design builds user trust?
Trust is built through consistent visual signals such as verification badges, clear statistics, credible imagery and a coherent design system, all of which were central to the AI Aviation Jobs website design.

What is the process for starting a website design project with Designwest?
The process begins with understanding the brief, audience and required functionality, followed by information architecture, wireframing, visual design and collaboration through to a responsive build, as followed for the AI Aviation Jobs platform.

Does Designwest design for both Mayo based and international clients equally?
Yes. Designwest applies the same design standards and process regardless of where a client is based, whether that is a local Mayo business or an international platform such as AI Aviation Jobs.

How does Designwest choose typography for a technology platform?Typography choices depend on the platform’s tone and data density. For AI Aviation Jobs, a bold geometric sans serif was chosen for headlines with a highly legible sans serif for body copy, ensuring dense sections such as pricing tables remained easy to scan.

Can Designwest redesign an existing website or platform?
Yes. Designwest works on both new builds and redesigns of existing websites and platforms, applying the same research and design process used for new projects such as AI Aviation Jobs.

Yes. The AI Aviation Jobs project included pricing tier design, presenting monthly plans and an enterprise option clearly, with consistent visual hierarchy so users can compare options quickly.

What file formats does Designwest deliver for a website design project?
Designwest typically delivers design files in formats such as Figma or Adobe XD alongside exported assets in formats including PNG, SVG and JPG, ready for handover to development.

Does Designwest design onboarding or sign up flows?
Yes. For AI Aviation Jobs, Designwest designed the candidate account creation flow, including form design and progress indicators, to keep onboarding simple and quick for new users.

How does Designwest approach mobile website design?
Mobile design is treated as equally important as desktop, with every layout tested and adjusted for smaller screens, as demonstrated by the responsive AI Aviation Jobs platform working across phone, tablet and desktop.

Can Designwest design a website that appeals to two different audiences at once?
Yes. The AI Aviation Jobs website was designed to serve both candidates and employers simultaneously, using parallel navigation, dual calls to action and audience-specific content sections throughout.

Does Designwest use stock imagery or custom visuals?
Designwest prioritises custom visual systems, icons and layouts tailored to each client, using imagery selectively where it reinforces the brand rather than relying on generic stock photography.

What is the benefit of working with a design and development team in house?
Working with a combined design and development team, as Designwest offers, ensures the final built website matches the original design intent closely, avoiding the gaps that can occur when design and build are handled by separate agencies.

Does Designwest design for recruitment or HR technology companies?
Yes. The AI Aviation Jobs project is a direct example of Designwest’s experience designing for recruitment technology, covering candidate profiles, employer dashboards and AI-assisted matching displays.

How important is colour psychology in website design?
Colour choices directly affect how trustworthy, modern or approachable a platform feels. For AI Aviation Jobs, indigo and violet were chosen for a technology-forward feel, with orange reserved solely for action points to guide user behaviour.

Does Designwest offer ongoing website support after launch?
Designwest can provide ongoing design support and updates following a website launch, helping clients adapt their site as their platform, audience or offering evolves over time.

What is the difference between a job board and an AI-powered recruitment platform in terms of design?
A generic job board is typically listings-focused with minimal personalisation, while an AI-powered platform such as AI Aviation Jobs requires design for matching displays, verification workflows and dual dashboards, all needing a more sophisticated visual system.

Does Designwest work with start-ups as well as established companies?
Yes. Designwest works with businesses at every stage, from early-stage start-ups building their first platform to established organisations refreshing an existing website, applying the same design rigour across all engagements.

How does Designwest reflect a client’s mission in website design?
Designwest builds design decisions directly around a client’s mission and audience. For AI Aviation Jobs, this meant reflecting the founder’s direct aviation background through credible, expert-led visual and content choices throughout the site.

Can Designwest design verification or compliance heavy interfaces without making them feel cold?
Yes. For AI Aviation Jobs, verification badges and compliance messaging were designed using rounded cards, clear icons and approachable colour choices, keeping a compliance-heavy feature set feeling human rather than clinical.

Does Designwest design AI-driven statistics or data displays?
Yes. Statistics such as candidate numbers, employer numbers and match success rates were treated as bold visual elements within the AI Aviation Jobs design, rather than being left as plain text.

How do I find a website designer near me in Mayo or Dublin?
Designwest is based in Kiltimagh, County Mayo, with a studio in Dublin, and works with clients across both counties as well as nationally and internationally. Contact the team directly to discuss a website design project.

Does Designwest design websites for candidates as well as businesses?
Website design projects like AI Aviation Jobs often need to serve individual users as much as businesses. Designwest designs with both audiences in mind, ensuring the interface works equally well for a jobseeker and an HR manager.

What technical considerations matter most in aviation or recruitment website design?
Aviation recruitment websites need to communicate compliance, credential verification and safetycritical trust alongside standard usability. Designwest addresses this through clear verification systems, transparent statistics and confident, credible visual design.

Does Designwest design chat or support widgets as part of a website build?
Yes. Designwest designed the AI chat assistant widget for AI Aviation Jobs, ensuring it matched the platform’s overall visual system while remaining clearly accessible from every page.

Every Designwest website project treats branding and function as one system rather than separate concerns, ensuring that colour, typography and layout choices reinforce usability rather than working against it, as shown throughout the AI Aviation Jobs platform.

Can Designwest work remotely with international clients throughout a project?
Yes. Designwest regularly manages full website design projects remotely for international clients, as with AI Aviation Jobs, using collaborative design tools and regular check-ins to keep projects on track without needing in-person meetings.

Does Designwest design employer-facing dashboards with analytics?
Yes. The AI Aviation Jobs employer dashboard was designed to present recruitment analytics, candidate engagement and job post performance clearly, giving HR teams an at-a-glance view of their hiring activity.

What should a business consider before starting a website design project?
Businesses should have clarity on their core user journeys, key features and target audience before starting a website design project, though Designwest can help shape this thinking during the initial discovery stage of any engagement.

How does Designwest ensure consistency across a large, multi-page website?
Consistency is maintained through a defined design system covering colour, typography, spacing and component styles, applied across every page from the homepage to dashboards, as delivered for the AI Aviation Jobs platform.

Does Designwest design websites that need to scale as a business grows?
Yes. Designwest builds design systems with growth in mind, ensuring new pages, features or user types can be added later without breaking the established visual language, as with the tiered pricing and dashboard structure built for AI Aviation Jobs.
