Book Design for “How’s Things? Galway Ireland – Empowering Mental Health in Rural Irish Farming Community

At designwest, we believe in the power of design to make a positive impact in people’s lives. Recently, we had the honour of working with Forum Connemara on a significant book design project called “How’s Things?” This book is dedicated to supporting mental health among the rural Irish farming community, and we are delighted to have contributed, even in a small way, to recognising and assisting with mental health issues in this vital sector. In this blog post, we will share the details of this remarkable project, highlighting our commitment to both exceptional book design and fostering mental well-being within the farming community.

“How’s Things?” is more than just a book; it’s a heartfelt initiative to raise awareness and provide support for mental health in the rural Irish farming community. Our team of qualified graphic designers approached this project with great empathy and dedication. We understood the importance of creating a visually engaging design that would resonate with the intended audience.

One of the most striking aspects of this book is the inclusion of beautiful hand-drawn artworks, crafted by the client themselves. These illustrations authentically depict Irish life and characters, offering a glimpse into the heart and soul of the farming community. We were truly impressed by the quality and depth of these Irish illustrations, which expertly capture the essence of the local culture and traditions. Our designers carefully curated the imagery and layout to ensure that every page of “How’s Things?” would have a lasting impact. The powerful combination of evocative illustrations and carefully chosen typography creates an immersive reading experience. Each turn of the page tells a story, prompting reflection and fostering empathy. The layout was designed to be accessible and easy to navigate, allowing readers to explore the book’s content at their own pace.

The book design created by our graphic designers for Forum Connemara received an overwhelmingly positive response. Its imagery, layout, and overall presentation were highly appreciated by both the client and the wider audience. The book’s quality and attention to detail made it a valuable resource for mental health support in the farming community. By addressing the unique challenges faced by rural Irish farmers, “How’s Things?” offers solace, encouragement, and a sense of community.

At designwest, we take pride in our extensive experience in book design, having worked on hundreds of projects for clients across Ireland since 2005. The collaboration with Forum Connemara on “How’s Things?” exemplifies our dedication to using design to positively impact society. By creating an aesthetically pleasing and emotionally resonant book, we hope to contribute to the ongoing conversation surrounding mental health in rural Ireland.

The “How’s Things?” book design project exemplifies the power of design to support mental health and promote well-being within the rural Irish farming community. Through captivating hand-drawn illustrations and thoughtful layout, our team at designwest has successfully created a visually stunning book that captures the essence of Irish life and characters. We are immensely proud to have been part of this initiative and look forward to continuing our commitment to impactful design projects in Galway, Ireland, and beyond.
